The Farnese group was founded in 1994 by Valentino Sciotti with the aim to produce top quality wine from Abruzzo. The enterprise was so successful that the group expanded further to Southern Italy & Sicily. They shepherd their winemaking process through to ensure they produce wines of great quality, varietal character, & value. Fantini is their flagship winery producing wines from vineyards based in the northern part of Abruzzo where ripeness & freshness harmonize in their wines. All the wines made from Montepulciano have the hallmark color & intensity of the Sangiovese grape but with a balance & accessibility that is often lacking in wines from this region. Reddish purple in color, this Italian red opens up with soothing aromas of sweet baked fruits harmoniously integrated with a trouch of woodsmoke. On the palate, tart red cherry flavors predominate with added hints of plum and chocolate characters culminating in a light & dry finish. This wine would go very well with Red Sauce Pasta Dishes & Red Meat Stews.
Garnet red colour, intense and persistent fragrance, fruity (strawberry and sour black cherry) with a vinous note and a scent of wood. Light to medium-bodied and balanced, ready to drink.
