Why We Love This Wine
Clos Marguerite offers single vineyard wines from its small family owned winery that are a harmonious blend of Old World experience & knowledge combined with New World innovation & vision. Comprising 10 hectares of mainly Pinot Noir & Sauvignon Blanc plantations, they believe in the higher quality of a natural product as evidenced by their approach of sheep grazing to control weed growth and provide natural fertilizer. The very dry & very sunny climate of the Awatere Valley are perfect compliments to the terroir. This wine has a wonderfully weighty texture and mouthfeel. The flavors are fresh & clean carried by a fine acidity and delicate mineral nuances with a sumptuous array of ripe fruit characters. This wine is great as an aperitif and will pair brilliantly with seafood, shellfish, light dishes, & canapes.
Winemaker / Tasting Notes
On the nose, subtle aromas of pure & vibrant citrus, mandarin, & nectarine fruit are prevalent with rich & refined flavors & textures of fruit, gentle herbaceousness, & trace nuances of minerality. This is an elegant white with great definition, a lovely satin texture, & great length on the finish.
