Why We Love This Wine

The wines of Baron Philippe de Rothschild, a family firm presided over today by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, combines traditional know how with the most modern technology to transform the gifts of nature into works of art & sources of pleasure. This same passion goes into this Pinot Noir of deep ruby red color with garnet tints. It opens up on the nose with jammy raspberry & cherry fruit aromas with a hint of vanilla emerging upon further airing. Fruity on the palate initially, it is smooth & spicy mid-palate with a highly expressive finish ably complemented by powerful tannins. Ideal as an accompaniment to Chicken Biryani, Chicken Tandoori, Beef Carpaccio, Beef Tartar, and Lamb Kebabs.

Winemaker / Tasting Notes

Deep ruby red in color with a slight garnet tint, this French Pinot Noir opens up on the nose with jammy redcurrant & cherry fruit aromas followed by nuanced hints of vanilla and coffee upon further airing. Fresh cherry, strawberry, & red currant fruit flavours quickly emerge on the initial elegant attack on the palate followed by a spicy & smooth roundness mid-palate leading to a expressively spicy finish punctuated by powerful tannins.
