Why We Love This Wine
Created in 1930, the Mouton Cadet range is the result of a history between Bordeaux wines and Baron Philippe de Rothschild who was keen on bringing the richness of the Bordeaux region to a wider audience. The know-how of Mouton Cadet serves a single purpose: sharing the "emotion of wine drinking" with customers all over the world while simultaneously fulfilling the ambition of guaranteeing the best quality from grape to glass and preserving & respecting the Bordeaux terroir. The robe can vary from pale gold, to copper gold, to straw yellow. On the nose, aromas of flowers, exotic fruits, spice, wood, cinnamon, and vanilla notes are revealed. On the palate, this sweet white shows slightly jammy flavors balanced out by a lively acidity. More concentrated flavors of bitter orange confit, salted butter, & caramel emerge with further aging.
Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Baron Philippe de Rothschild Mouton Cadet Reserve Sauternes is a blend of Semillon, which gives roundness & refinement to the wine; Sauvignon Blanc, giving fresh aromas & fruit characters; and Muscadelle which imbues it with perfumed aromatic elements. The blend is composed of 88% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon Blanc, and 2% Muscadelle.
