The Bercher Estate Vineyards have been family owned since 1756. Located between the Rhine River and the Black Forest, their best vineyards in Burkheim produce lush & mineralic wines owing mainly to the volcanic soil in the Kaiserstuhl region in southwest Baden. Their flavor profiles make them ideal accompaniments to a wide array of modern cuisine. Combining tradition with modern viticulture & cellar technology, all their wines go through extended lees aging resulting in vintages with wonderful ageing potential. A dry wine from a Grosses Lage vineyard showing depth, character, & subtle background notes, it is dark ruby red in colr with intense & persistent aromas of plums, dried figs, & cassis with mild traces of coffee, dark chocolate, & liquorice. One of the best Pinot Noirs from the prestigious Kaiserstuhl region, enjoy this wine with Deer, Wild Boar, or Roast Duck with Nut Spaetzle.
Fairly mature nose, nutty and light vegetal notes, pomaceous fruit, and light oak. Full bodied and creamy on the palate, very elegant acidity, hint of caramel, persistent and has depth.
