The Bercher Estate Vineyards have been family owned since 1756. Located between the Rhine River and the Black Forest, their best vineyards in Burkheim produce lush & mineralic wines owing mainly to the volcanic soil in the Kaiserstuhl region in southwest Baden. Their flavor profiles make them ideal accompaniments to a wide array of modern cuisine. Combining tradition with modern viticulture & cellar technology, all their wines go through extended lees aging resulting in vintages with wonderful ageing potential. A tropical & well balanced white, fragrances of apple, mango, & melon dominate the nose with clear fresh & fruity expressions descending on the palate culminating in a long finish. Pair this wine with root vegetable & squash dishes, Shrimp Scampi, Lobster Thermidore, Crabcakes, and cold appetizers such as Thai Crunch Salad, Tuna Carpaccio, Bruschetta, or Mushroom Crostino.
Fruity on the nose, spicy on the palate. A full-bodied yet uncomplicated white wine. Pairs well with crustaceans, and cold appetizers such as salads, carpaccio, and antipasti.
