Pure and crisp with luxurious layers of green apple, orange peel, lemon cream butter and lightly toasted oak, this Chardonnay oozes finesse and confidence. It's well made, well priced, and well worth our devoted enjoyment. A lovely aperitif, but certainly substantial enough for salmon or salad.
Meaning “light” in Latin, Luminus naturally represents the radiance of this Chardonnay. Like the brightness and purity that the name conjures, Chardonnay from the Oak Knoll district is known for its uncommon focus. The Chardonnay fruit from the Big Ranch Vineyard is known for its elegance and balance and Chief Winemaker Mark Beringer has always gravitated towards this acid-driven, food-friendly style of Chardonnay.
The end-product has a striking purity of fruit, and showcasing bright citrus characteristics and a beautiful minerality. It has a robust acidity, notes of lemon pith, almond extract, and a silky, elegant texture. It also exhibits pineapple, poached pear, honeysuckle and buttery melon notes in addition to a subtle use of wood, and a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel.
