The Chateau Latour French Wine Estate has been in existence since 1378. It is rated as a First Growth under the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Latour lies at the very southeastern tip of the commune of Pauillac in the Medoc region to the northwest of Bordeaux, at its border with Saint Julien, and only a few hundred meters from the banks of the Gironde Estuary. The Estate produces 3 red wines in all: the Grand Vin, The Les Forts de Latour which it has been crafting since 1966, and its Pauillac which it has released yearly since 1989. This wine possesses great freshness, a soft texture, & impeccably smooth tannins. This vintage has aged quite well with an attractive acidity and smokiness that carries over to its long & persistent finish. Enjoy this between 2018 through 2032 with Roast Lamb, Gamey Meats, Grilled Beef Ribs, and Tournedos (Thick Cut Beef Fillet).
A dense dark garnet in color, the nose reveals red & black fruit characters with added licorice, leather, & savory notes. On the palate, this wine is fruity, vigorous, & tannic where the tannins will further soften & round out with further aging.
