Chateau Potensac is a winery in the Medoc Appellation of the Bordeaux Wine Region of France. It takes its name from its location which is on the top of the Potensac Plateau in the Northern part of the Medoc. The Chateau Potensac has been grown & managed by the Delon Family for several generations running. This elegantly concentrated & dense wine opens up with wonderful aromas of crushed berries, wet earth, & rose petals. Very polished & pretty, it has a touch of wood aging as well as dark black fruits with a medium body and firm, finely integrated tannins. This is a very fine wine with a tight texture, great richness, and wonderful freshness accurately representative of the pure Medoc style.
Very reliable and totally classic. Not a gentle wine, for it usually requires a wait of at least 5-10 years for it to lose its initial reserve. Among its features are a deep colour, ripe, intense fruit (specially blackcurrant), notes of spice and cedarwood, a meaty taste and a good basis of oak and also as a rule, a long finish.
