One of the finest vintages of this cuvee, the 2009 Domaine de Chevalier consists of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot. It boasts an exotic bouquet of lavish black fruit, oregano, mint, & cedarwood. On the palate, it is full & velvety with black cherries, plums, blackberries, currants, forest floor, truffles, & cigar tobacco all emerging from this medium to full-bodied wine with terrific balance and impressive freshness & purity culminating in a long & powerful finish.
Black & brilliant with red glints, this wine manifests a ripe & intense nose of blueberry & blackberry intermingled with fresh leather, pine tree resin, balsam, & graphite as well as added vestiges of menthol freshness. This is a very impressive & complex full-bodied, pulpy, & silky red with a finesse & distinction typical of Domaine de Chevalier's style.
