Why We Love This Wine
From the gently rolling, south facing slopes of Hochheim with chalky, mineral rich soil that is famous for growing richer & outstanding quality Rieslings, stands the 7th Generation Domdechant Werner Family Estate comprising a stylish manor house surrounded by vineyards overlooking the picturesque city of Mainz and the Rhine & Main River valleys. The heavy calcareous soils in this Rheingau region guarantees good water balance even in hot years where the vine roots can draw nutrients from the soil even until late autumn. Pale straw in color with green glints, this off dry wine exudes aromas of apricot, lemon, & chalk with a palate of ripe apple & pear with trace nuances of soft peach balanced out by a racy acidity. Perfect as an aperitif, this wine likewise pairs very well with Vongole Pasta & Smoked Salmon Salad.
Tasting Notes
Apricot, lemon and chalky mineral aromas. Ripe apple and pear flavours, offset by a taut acidity.
