From the small village of Nackenheim situated on the banks of the River Rhine at the foot of the Rothenberg mountains in Rheinhessen Germany, stands the prestigious 6th generation Nackenheim Rothenburg Family Estate vineyards of Gunderloch founded by Carl Gunderloch in 1890. Ever since, winegrowing has been a communal experience with the Gunderloch family from generation to generation allowing them to make the most out of this area characterized by rich, red volcanic soil in crafting delicate Rieslings of the highest quality. Lush & balanced with a sweet honey nectar bouquet, this wine has great complexity seamlessly combining sweetness, acidity, & fine minerality. On the palate, it possesses distinctive flavors of ripe peaches & apricots with trace hints of fresh pineapple, raspberry, Turkish delight, & muscatels with a citrusy background. Pair this with fruit based desserts like Apple Tarts or Apple Strudel and salty cheeses like blue cheese & Roquefort.
It has a clear citrus colour and opens with a bright, fresh and concentrated bouquet of grapefruits, lemons and wet stones. Round and deliciously lush on the palate, this is a mouth-filling, highly elegant, piquant and salty Auslese with nice grip, grapefruit flavors on the aftertaste and pencil wood on the finish. Really stimulating. Very erotic and provided with great aging potential.
