From the small village of Nackenheim situated on the banks of the River Rhine at the foot of the Rothenberg mountains in Rheinhessen Germany, stands the prestigious 6th generation Nackenheim Rothenburg Family Estate vineyards of Gunderloch founded by Carl Gunderloch in 1890. Ever since, winegrowing has been a communal experience with the Gunderloch family from generation to generation allowing them to make the most out of this area characterized by rich, red volcanic soil in crafting delicate Rieslings of the highest quality. Golden yellow in color, this delicious, rich, & complex Riesling provides aromas of orange creamsicle on the nose with an explosive richness of peach & citrus fruit on the palate providing great balance & near perfect acidity. Pair this wine with tart fruit based desserts like Lemon Curd Tart or Key Lime Pie.
Silky in texture, with a little bit of crunchiness, this is well-balanced and vibrant overall, exhibiting passion fruit, vanilla, verbena and mineral aromas and flavors, which unfold in waves over the delicate structure. Fine length. Best from 2021 through 2035.
