Why we love this wine:
Supple and young Pinot Noir full of sunny California character.
This Pinot has a charming bouquet of strawberry with a touch of raspberry and hints of fresh split oak. Finishes dry, it flirts with a subtle fruity finish but the flavours linger and there's some acidity and good tannins to go along with your picnic salad.
Winemaker / tasting notes:
Made from 100% estate grown Pinot Noir grapes from the Freestone Vineyards, the 2014 Pinot Noir showcases aromatic red fruit, fragrant violet and savory spices. Fresh and focused on the palate with concentrated red raspberry and cherry, currant, baking spices and a hint of smoked meat. It is nicely textured with firm acidity and lingering finish. This distinctively delicious wine was aged in French oak barrels for fourteen months.
