Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Klein Constantia's 146 hectare estate was originally formed as part of Constantia - a vast property established in 1685 by Simon Van Der Stel, the 1st governor of the Cape. This particular valley was chosen not only for its' beauty but also for the decomposed granite soils on its' slopes gently cooled by ocean breezes. Light & bright in appearance, the nose evokes fresh grapefruit & green fig aromas with added touches of an oyster shell like salinity. Full-bodied & concentrated, the palate is textured with a light acidity & a bold minerality. An elevated expression of the Sauvignon Blanc varietal, this wine concludes with a long, crisp, & spicy finish.
