The name LAN, an acronym representing the La Rioja, Alava, and Navarra provinces that make up D.O.Ca. Rioja, has a story closely linked to the land. The Vina Lanciano vineyard nourished by the River Ebro is the heart & soul of Bodegas LAN growing primarily Tempranillo, Mazuelo, Graciano, & Garnacha grapes. The Continental Mediterranean climate combined with the chalky clay soils, well drained slopes, and good sun exposure here greatly affect the quality & character of their wines. Aged 14 months in oak, this wine has a nicely balanced, savory, & earthy nose that mingles with oak spice, red cherry, & dark berry aromas. It is medium bodied on the palate with lovely savory & cherry flavors with light touches of coconut. Acids are juicy & well-balanced while its tannins are dry & dusty. Earthy & savory notes linger on its long finish. Pair this with appetizers, charcuterie, pasta, & rice dishes.
Bright cherry red in color with a garnet rim. This wine posseses a refined nose with predominant notes of red and stone fruits - strawberry, raspberry, & peach. Patisserie & cream encased in elegant notes of vanilla & caramel with a subtle hint of cinnamon. Flavorful & expressive on the palate, this inviting wine leaves a long & pleasant aftertaste on the finish.
