Les Grand Chais is a key wine town in the Libournais district of Bordeaux just a few miles north of the Dordogne, in the final stages of the river's journey from the hills of the Massif Central to the Gironde Estuary. The town is reknowned as much for its beautiful buildings & scenery as for its wine. Its steep, narrow, cobblestone streets overlooked by its Romanesque church and the iconic Tour du Roy Tower are picturesque reminders of the town's rich & storied past. Ruby red in color, this wine offers up luscious mulberry, plum, & dark berry fruit characters from the Merlot with added hints of herbs, tobacco leaf, & green bell pepper notes from the lower concentration of Cabernet Franc grapes. This wine blend would make an ideal pairing for Braised Lamb with Truffles, Roasted Wild Boar, or Steak with Red Wine Sauce.
Clear and intense red robe. A bouquet with a great intensity of red fruits aroma with notes of almonds and rose. Round and supple attack on the palate. Great, rich and fleshy structure. Elegant and fruity finish with light spicy notes.
