With 65 hectares farmed entirely using biodynamic viticulture principles, Weingut Loimer is among the best producers of Gruner Veltliner & Riesling in the whole of Austria. Their estate near Langenlois in the Kamptal region includes several Erste Lage or "premier cru" locations. Winemaker Fred Loimer's winemaking philosophy is non-intervention & patience where he was quoted as saying: "If I were to name our greatest helping hand in the cellar, it would have to be time." This lovely white is crisp & refreshing exhibiting a depth of fruit character, brightness, and balance. With highly complex aromas and flavors of lemon, green apple, & honeydew melon with trace nuances of spicy & savory herbal bacon, this wine provides a lively acid finish with discernible mineral character. By virtue of its bright acidity and citrus & mineral profile, this wine will go very well with mildly spiced Vietnamese, Thai, & Chinese dishes as well as ham.
Smells of yellow apples and spicy herbal bacon, mineral hints of quartz sand; pure apple on the palate in various facets, elegant extract sweetness with harmonious acidity, juicy drinking flow, pleasant texture, crystal-clear fruit, extremely solid and capable and for the most part, a great banquet wine. Versatile food pairing white meat with noodles.
