Why We Love This Wine
The Mailly Grand Cru Estate extends across 70 hectares entirely located in the Grand Cru Village of Mailly Champagne in the heart of the Montagne de Reims nature park. The vineyard is divided into 480 plots planted to 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay: the 2 noble Champagne varietals. Blessed with a unique terroir, most of the Mailly plots are north facing favoring the development of subtle, well-balanced wines. Nestled in the center of the vine covered slopes is the Winery: a glass building above several different levels of cellars and a kilometer long stretch of chalk caves where Mailly Grand Cru Champagne, made exclusively from Mailly Champagne grapes, are crafted & aged. This mature Grand Cru Champagne exhibits an abundance of toastiness together with a light texture & deliciously ripe apple flavors. Its ripe fruit richness imbues this wine with an inherent softness while adroitly managing its underlying acidity. This fine wine will drink best from 2021 onwards.

There is a lovely sense of completeness to this cuvee: layers of sweet pastry, ripe fruit, & zesty citrus characters emerge with a residual spicy bite that adds personality & depth. The rich & silky palate captures all the promise of this great vintage with a mineral edge to the finish that imbues this cru with its singular voice.
