Peter Lehman wines was established in 1980 in Tanunda South Australia by its eponymous founder who was widely known as the "Baron of Barossa". Their iconic wine is the Stonewell Shiraz, a wine that includes grapes from their own estate vineyards in the Maranaga district of Barossa Valley. They source their grapes from 140 different grape growers throughout the Barossa & Eden Vallays as well as Adelaide Hills. A bright pale golden straw in color, the nose of this Barossa Valley Chardonnay evinces stonefruit & fresh melon fruit characters with underlying creamy oak notes. On its deep, fleshy, & flavorful palate, ripe stonefruit flavors are prevalent balanced out by vanillin oak nuances & added complexity from nutty lees aging. This is a proper Chardonnay offering great value for money.
Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Bright yellow straw in color with greenish tinged hues, this white boasts a fresh nose of white peach, lemon tree and chamomile tea aromas. On its medium-bodied palate, it has a nice acid backbone and a firm structure that culminates in a lovely finish punctuated by mineral notes and a touch of citrus essence.
