1st established in 1776, this estate is located in the furthest corner of the beautiful Franschoek Valley. The farm & homestead was restored in 1993 establishing a new vineyard planting program that now includes Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon, & Viognier. As a producer, they are considered a premium Syrah specialist and they have since branched out to produce delicious, everyday drinking wines through their Porcupine Ridge Range. A delicate saline nose that intrigues with added apple blossom, green melon, & stone fruit aromas closes out with faint whiffs of dill, lime, grapefruit, & nettles. Its smooth & textured palate surprises with intense green & tropical fruit flavors showing nectarine, pear, papaya, greengage, & gooseberry. Supple & round with a balanced acidity, it finishes with white peach, green fig, & lemongrass that linger on the mouth with tarragon & chalk hints.
An exceptionally fresh & intense Sauvignon Blanc with granadilla, pineapple, melon, & citrus fruit aromas. On the palate, it is refreshing, crisp, & focused with aftertastes of lemon & hints of angelica, nettles, & green figs balanced out by a vibrant acidity.
