Why we love this wine:
This port wine has a light brown color with amber hints. It has notes of almonds and caramelized walnuts and an undertone of coconut. On the palate, it is soft and approachable with dark raisins along with some sweet caramel and toffee.
Pair with desserts made from chocolate, dried fruits, spices (cinnamon) and caramel. Also serve with coffee or chocolates.
Winemaker / tasting notes:
Port wines, also known as Porto, are sweet, fortified wines from Portugal produced exclusively in the Douro Valley, often served as a dessert wine, often with cheese, nuts or chocolate; white and aged style Tawny ports are often served as aperitif. Port wine is typically richer, sweeter, heavier, and higher in alcohol content than unfortified wines.
They use three components from different harvests in the final blend. A light brown with amber hints, notes of almonds and caramelized walnuts and an undertone of coconut.
