Why we love this wine:

This port wine has a dark cherry colour, with an aroma of blackberries, raspberries and a touch of violets. On the palate, it has a beautiful texture, with good body and weight and dominated by pure primary flavors. The tannins are mostly hidden by primary fruit.

Vintage Ports are after meal drinks. Take them with cheese like gorgonzola. But you can also incorporate them into a meal, combining for instance steak with a young vintage.

Winemaker / tasting notes:

Port wines, also known as Porto, are sweet, fortified wines from Portugal produced exclusively in the Douro Valley, often served as a dessert wine, often with cheese, nuts or chocolate; white and aged style Tawny ports are often served as apéritif. Port wine is typically richer, sweeter, heavier, and higher in alcohol content than unfortified wines.

This Vintage Port has ripe fruits evocative of black plum and red currant. Earthy and well balanced with a touch of dry wood. Some minutes later raspberry and violet flower flavor emerge with a lovely hint of soy.
