Why We Love This Wine
Sequioa Grove is a family owned Winery founded in 1979 in a 110 year old barn beneath a grove of ancient Sequioa trees in the prestigious Rutherford subregion in Napa Valley. It is where they have honed their craft of creating world-class Cabernet Sauvignon and other Napa Valley Wines that emphasize elegance, finesse, structure, & balance. Their consistent philosophy of making wines with varietal character that are reflective of the land helped establish Sequioa Grove as one of the premier Cabernet Saiuvignon producers in Napa Valley. Their 24-acre Estate Vineyard and 50-acre Tonella Ranch Vineyard are both located in the heart of Rutherford, where the superb climate & gravelly loam soils impart distinct flavor & character in their Bordeaux blend style varieties. A concentrated & flamboyant red with a core of crushed blackberries, plums, & mulberries with almond undertones and faint whiffs of lavender & dried thyme. Medium to full-bodied with an abundance of earthy & mineral layers accenting the black fruits, it has an approachable, rounded frame with a supple & graceful texture providing a nice herbal lift on the finish.
Winemaker / Tasting Notes
The Cambium opens up with bright floral notes, hints of violet, truffles, & mocha. On the palate, the cocoa blends with mulberries and a touch of toasted marshmallow. This medium-bodied red boasts a rich & layered palate. Decant this wine when young or cellar it for 10 to 15 years.
