Tyrell's Winery traces its roots to 1858 when Edward Tyrell, a British immigrant, took up a selection of 320 acres of prime Hunter Valley land - one of the last available properties in this limestone rich territory abutting the Brokenback range. The Winery was completed in 1863 and Tyrell's 1st vintage came out the following year. Tyrell's staunchly advocates sustainable farming through their established Environmental Management System which has achieved a 62% reduction in Total Greenhouse Gas Emissions since 2009. Today, Tyrell's premium vineyards extend from their historic home in Hunter Valley to other distinguished grape growing regions in Australia including Heathcote in Victoria where they have identified seven rare vineyard blocks more than 100 years old. Delicate pale yellow in color, this is a lively, fresh, & fruity wine with aromas of freshly cut grass & herbs with clean lemon citrus flavors on the palate. It has a good length of flavor leading to a zesty, citrus laced finish. Pair this wine with lightly seasoned seafood like Steamed Fish Fillet with Garlic, Grilled Chicken Salad, & Smoked Turkey Canapes.
