Villa Girardi is a typical Venetian Villa designed by Luigi Trezza back in the 1700s. The Villa is located in a large park with old trees surrounded by 30 hectares of vineyards with rich clay-limestone soil and a mild climate creating conditions conducive to the cultivation of indigenous Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, and Molinara grape varieties. The family business was formally founded in 1986 under the auspices of Franco Tommasi. The Villa Girardi Estate lies in the valley that connects San Pietro in Cariano with Fumane in the heart of the Valpolicella Region northwest of Verona. Intense cherry red in color, this wine opens up with a com plex melange of vanilla, red currant, & cherry aromas. On the palate, it is soft, medium-bodied, & fruity with distinct red cherry flavor notes. Pair this wine with red meat stews, game, and Asiago or Grana Padano cheese.
Characteristic of remarkable refinement, wilted violets on the nose. On the palate, it is sincere and sapid, very harmonious with hints of dry roasted nuts, oak and tobacco.
