Last Thursday, August 2, we celebrated our entrance to the local wine scene—our official launch! Joined by our friends, media partners, and clients, we opened the cellar doors with free-flowing wine and delectable food, expertly paired with our best-selling bottles at the Society Lounge in Makati City.

Chris Urbano, our founder and Chief Sommelier, welcomed guests by sharing the most intimate details of our origins, from starting the company on his office desk at home, bringing in the first batch of wine shipments, and finally hiring a team of dedicated employees to complete the goals he set out from the start.

The event was deemed as a success, especially due to the attendance of honored guests, such as Amanda Gorely, Australian Ambassador to the Philippines; Elodie Journet of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission, our angel investors, and friends from within and outside of the wine industry. They enjoyed wines from the US and Australia, with specialty dishes made by Society Lounge’s very own, Chef Patrice Frueslon. Truly, the launch was just the beginning of a long and prosperous relationship between Winery Philippines and the local wine market. Apart from bringing in great value wines from all over the world, we are focused on giving Manila a renewed, and more passionate approach to finding the pleasures of wine.
