Winemaker / tasting notes:
Claret is the British _inspired name for an elegant red blend of classic Bordeaux varietals, in this case Merlot (50%), Malbec (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). This blend is juicy and expressive with layered aromas of cranberry, cherry cola and currants merging with vibrant flavors of dark red berries and spices. The creamy entry finishes smooth yet structured.
The 2017 St Francis Claret is an excellent companion to roast beef, grilled or roasted lamb, aged Cheddar and blue cheese.
