A family owned winery of European origin, Chateau Los Boldos is located in the exceptional soils of the Cachapoal Andes Valley in Chile. The Chateau is located in the Cachapoal Andes Valley where the Andes Mountain Range defines the valley's climate & topography. The Cachapoal River that transverses this region serves as a moderating influence, cooling agent, and a main source of irrigation. From 100% Los Boldos Estate fruit in the Rapel Valley fermented in stainless steel tanks, this is an excellent example of modern Chilean winemaking of fruit forward & uncomplicated everyday quaffers. On the palate, flavors of damson plum with a hint of chocolate converge making this an excellent partner for Chilean red meat dishes like Bistec ala Chorillana (Sliced Steak with Tomato, Onion, Rice, & Potatoes), Charquican (Chielan Stew with ground beef, corn, & vegetables), Empanada Pino Al Horno (Minced Meat Pies), and Churasco & Chacareno (Traditional Chilean Steak Sandwiches)
Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Bright violet red in color, red fruit, prune, and vanilla aromas are revealed on the nose. This wine would pair perfectly with Salmon, Tuna, Turkey and Chicken dishes, Roast Beef, Pasta with light sauces, and Brie & Camembert Cheese. Fruity& smooth with round tannins and a soft finish.
