Gonzalez Byass: Two Centuries of Fine Wine

Manuel Maria Gonzalez started his career in the world of wine as a trader in 1835. However, the company’s success inspired him to get involved in production. With the help of his uncle, Jose Angel, he released his first solera and named it Tio Pepe’s Solera in honor of his uncle. 20 years later, he became a leader in Sherry. After sending a letter to Robert Blake Byass, who advised Manuel to send bottles of Tio Pepe to the United Kingdom, a partnership was formed and the company became an international name.

Today, Gonzalez Byass has acquired 14 wineries around Spain and in Chile, producing exceptional wines that stay true to the local terroir. Most popular of these wine brands is Beronia, located in Rioja, Spain. A wine that was born amongst friends, to be enjoyed by friends, this is a perfect example of Tempranillo wine from Spain.
