Why We Love This Wine
Founded by Dan & Margaret Duckhorn in 1976, Duckhorn vineyards has been crafting classic Napa Valley wine for over 40 years now. Focused on quality & consistency throughout the various Napa Valley microclimates, their 7 meticulously farmed Estate Vineyards are an essential element in making wines of distinction. A Cabernet Sauvignon blend consisting of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 0.5% Cabernet Franc, and 0.5% Petit Verdot, this 2017 Napa Valley Cabernet is the embodiment of the end result of everything going right in a vintage. A ripe, rounded, & luscious wine of elegance & restraint, aromas of blackberry, dark cherry, & black currant fruit interwoven with light floral & licorice notes are immediately evident on the nose. On the palate, it displays a sweet purple plum intensity with added currant notes. Ripe tannins add to the richness of its plush palate ushering in savory fruit characters on the way to its polished clove & toasted oak laced finish. Enjoy this now through 2027 with a Rare Cut of Prime Rib.
