Why We Love This Wine
This is pretty much a kitchen sink red blend of many varieties with predominant Petite Sirah & Petit Verdot. Chalky tannins provide substantial grip & weight around fleshy dark fruit, cedarwood, & sage. Black pepper & tobacco nuances further emerge throughout its long & spicy finish.
Winemaker / Tasting Notes
The Sheriff of Buena Vista is deserving of its name. This bold Sonoma County Red Wine is an authoritative blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Grenache, Petite Verdot, Mourvedre, Merlot, & Mission. This wine jumps from the glass opening with bold aromas of plum, black cherries, & violets on the nose. On the palate, this wine is silky to the touch & juicy with flavors of blackberry jam, black currant, and freshly cracked black pepper. Rich layers of dark chocolate and star anise then emerge on the finish balanced out by firm tannins & a bright acidity.
