Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Valderiz Juegabolos is a single-varietal wine made from Tinta Fina, native grapes from the D.O. Ribera del Duero. The grapes come from an estate called Juegabolos, a vineyard planted by Tomás Esteban in 1988. Finca Juegabolos is located on very special terroir. The first stratum is formed by gravel which, as well as draining the scarce rainfall, forces the vines to put down roots in deeper stratums, which provides the wine with mineral touches and plenty of structure. During the wine's production, no microorganisms are inoculated, allowing the native yeasts from the environment to prompt fermentation. This red wine goes through the malolactic fermentation in barrels. Subsequently, it is aged for 36 months in French oak barrels.
