With Chile having over 2,900 volcanoes, Bodegas Volcanes de Chile has vineyards located in different valleys across the country. The deeper subsoils rich in volcanic matter there help the vines withstand high temperature conditions while retaining moisture & good drainage. The volcanic character is an attribute that makes their wines more vibrant & richer offering great complexity on the nose & palate without the need for excessive oak aging. Ruby red in color with apurple tinged rim, the nose evokes plush aromas of spicy black fruits, black tea, tomato leaf, & baking spices. On its medium-bodied palate, savory black plum & blackberry fruit flavors are manifested with added herbal touches culminating in a green capsicum & black pepper laced finish.
