Why We Love This Wine
1st established in 1776, this estate is located in the furthest corner of the beautiful Franschoek Valley. The farm & homestead was restored in 1993 establishing a new vineyard planting program that now includes Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon, & Viognier. As a producer, they are considered a premium Syrah specialist and they have since branched out to produce delicious, everyday drinking wines through their Porcupine Ridge and Wolftrap Ranges. A simple, everyday quaffer, the 2018 Wolftrap Red Blend exhibits aromatic notes of black spice, red plum, & blackberry fruits with added vestiges of soft smoke and floral characters. On its medium-bodied palate, flavors of dark cherry & plum emerge at the forefront with added subtle red & black spices emerging mid-palate. The finish is straightforward, smooth, & pleasant.

A South African Red Blend consisting of Syrah, Mourvedre, & Viognier, this is an intense wine evoking blackberry & blueberry aromas. On the palate, it displays a silky texture, great, balance, and a vibrance mid-palate leading to a delightful earthy finish.
