Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Master of Malbec Jean Luc Baldes strength of character & perseverance have led him to understand how to best exploit his best plots of vines to make quality wines while staying true to the essence of this traditional winery passed down to him over a multitude of generations. His talent & creativity has led to the creation of powerfully audacious Malbec wines from the New Black Wine, the prestigious Probus, and the classic Clos Triguedina range. The estate sits where the Lot River meanders and covers about 70 hectares of the lush, green Lot Valley where the clay, limestone, and silica clay soils (similar to those found in the famed Pomerol Region) are ideal for wine production of Classed Growth Status. This wine unfurls opulent & concentrated dried fruit, chewy black fruit, and prune aromas on the nose. This New Black Wine shows great complexity with an astonishing array of dark fruit, spice, & tertiary earthy flavors interwoven with silky tannins and ultimately culminating in a fresh, long finish of great purity.
