The Wine Advocate wrote about the 2017 vintage, "Primarily Carignan planted in 1909, the 2017 Minervois Cazelles Les Carretals is easily one of my favorite examples of this sometimes maligned (even by me) variety. Briary red raspberries lead the way in this medium to full-bodied wine, which aged entirely in pièces de Bourgogne. Hints of vanilla and baking spices help tame the wiry green tendrils that stick out of the fruit, bringing them back into harmonious balance on the silky-textured finish."
