Master of Malbec Jean Luc Baldes strength of character & perseverance have led him to understand how to best exploit his best plots of vines to make quality wines while staying true to the essence of this traditional winery passed down to him over a multitude of generations. His talent & creativity has led to the creation of powerfully audacious Malbec wines from the New Black Wine, the prestigious Probus, and the classic Clos Triguedina range. The estate sits where the Lot River meanders and covers about 70 hectares of the lush, green Lot Valley where the clay, limestone, and silica clay soils (similar to those found in the famed Pomerol Region) are ideal for wine production of Classed Growth Status. The nose evokes intense black & red fruit aromas interlaced with peppermint & licorice accents. On the palate, the black fruit characters directly translate revealing a supple texture with concentrated & ripe tannins. A fully balanced & rich wine perfectly expressing the traditional Cahors terroir, it likewise boasts impressive length on the finish. Pair this with Foie Gras Pasta, Charcuterie, & Grilled Red Meats.
