Heartland grows & selects grapes with the most flavor per acre through careful vineyard management & years of collective expertise. With a 160 year history of winemaking, the Langhorne Creek Wine Region sits atop an ancient, natural floodplain between the Bremer & Angus Rivers on the shores of Lake Alexandrina and it was these fertile alluvial soils that attracted settlers here who eventually cultivated the land. The dark, intense garnet color of this wine portends to a wine of dense layered fruit. The aromas of anise & fresh cracked pepper are enveloped in classic blackberry scents with hint of violets. Black fruit & berry flavors lead the way on the palate with an earthy feel leaving firm and chewy cocoa like tannins. This is great with Steaks!
