Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Combining the richly flavored character of very old vines planted in the 1930s and the genius and craftsmanship of Australia’s 2019 Young Gun of Wine Winners Damon and Jono Koerner, this 2020 ‘Cannonau’ Grenache reinvents the definition of red wines from the highly esteemed Clare Valley in South Australia. The Cannonau is more Pinot-like with its light, bright and juicy personality. Hand-harvested, naturally fermented with grape skins for 2 weeks, aged for 9 months in Slovenian oak and 3 months in steel, bottled without fining or filtration, this wine gives a spicy, graphite structure with lots of complex notes that come together and tell a story like an orchestra would.
Aromas/Flavor Notes: Strawberry, raspberry, mushroom, earthy, spice
