Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Brought to you by 2019 Young Gun of Wine Winner Damon and Jono Koerner, the 2018 LEKO Pinot Noir is a natural wine that expresses tradition- Pinot but not overly done- delicate fruits, earthy and soft tannins.
Organically farmed and hand harvested from a single site, Willsmore Vineyard in Piccadilly, the wine is spontaneously fermented and hand plunged twice daily. The free run and pressings are combined before settling on gross lees for 7 days. The wine is aged on Slovakian oak Fondrue for 10 months and further aged in stainless steel for another 6 months. No fining and no filtration.
This is a wine that newbies will appreciate -light and easy - while enthusiasts will love discovering the subtle complexities that unravel over time.
