Why We Love This Wine
The Mailly Grand Cru Estate extends across 70 hectares entirely located in the Grand Cru Village of Mailly Champagne in the heart of the Montagne de Reims nature park. The vineyard is divided into 480 plots planted to 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay: the 2 noble Champagne varietals. Blessed with a unique terroir, most of the Mailly plots are north facing favoring the development of subtle, well-balanced wines. Nestled in the center of the vine covered slopes is the Winery: a glass building above several different levels of cellars and a kilometer long stretch of chalk caves where Mailly Grand Cru Champagne, made exclusively from Mailly Champagne grapes, are crafted & aged. A powerful & bold Grand Cru Champagne reflecting wheat toast, cherry, & pencil shaving characters supported by a firm structure. Concentrated & long, it lingers on the palate with a biscuit & cherry jam laced finish.
Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Displaying irridescent golden yellow tones, this wine boast a full & fruity nose & palate. This is a very "come hither" Champagne: racy, elegant, & deeply sensual with beguiling bubbles that literally burst with luscious fruit. Mouthwatering hints of lightly toasted & freshly buttered bread make this the ideal Champagne to get the juices (and the conversations) flowing.
