Why We Love This Wine
Nestled deep in Galicia on the banks of the River Sil transversing the Ribeira Sacra Region, the Ponte da Boga Winery is set on steeply sloped terraces basking in balmy Spanish sunlight where vines up to 100 years old are cooled by Atlantic winds. This fruit-driven Mencia shows off an intense cherry red colored robe. The nose evokes intense violet & rose floral as well as blackberry fruit aromas with hints of pepper, spice, & earth characters. On the palate, ripe blackberry, sour cherry, & violet floral flavors are revealed. This wine makes for an ideal pairing with Grilled Red Meats & Roast Pork Dishes.
Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Showing an abundance of good fruit on the nose and great freshness in the mouth, the nose evokes cherry fruit, blackberry, & violet floral aromas which directly translate on the palate culminating in a fresh, fruity finish with a touch of minerality.
