With a long history in the Barossa Valley in Australia, the Thorn-Clark family boasts 6 generations of involvement in the wine industry. They just recently started their own Sandpiper label in 1998 consistently producing great value wines of surprising character. Displaying a deep, reddish purple robe, the nose reveals black currant fruit and mocha aromas along with undertones of rosemary herbal hints and Chinese 5 spice whiffs. On its' full-bodied palate, lifted black currant and plum fruit flavors are manifested with added touches of spice framed by soft & well rounded tannins. This is a plush red wine offering up a lengthy, fruit driven finish.
