Winemaker / Tasting Notes
Colour: Pale straw.
Aroma: Rich varietal chardonnay aromas of peaches and cream, rock melon, cashews and creamy barrel aged lees characters.
Palate: Developed but fresh, smooth and well balanced with nothing obviously dominating the palate. This wine is fine in texture with apricot, stone fruit and apple balanced by a little creamy lees and a hint of butterscotch. A multilayered cool climate style that is generous yet elegant with excellent structure and length.
Winemaking: This wine was fermented and aged on lees for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Cellaring: The good natural acid levels allow the oak and fruit to integrate resulting in a scrumptious wine to be savoured. It is drinking well now but it will reward you well if you have patience, as it will become rounder and very scrumptious with time, up to and well beyond 2030.
