Created in 1930, the Mouton Cadet range is the result of a history between Bordeaux wines and Baron Philippe de Rothschild who was keen on bringing the richness of the Bordeaux region to a wider audience. The know-how of Mouton Cadet serves a single purpose: sharing the "emotion of wine drinking" with customers all over the world while simultaneously fulfilling the ambition of guaranteeing the best quality from grape to glass and preserving & respecting the Bordeaux terroir. Intense & brilliant red in color, this wine is dense & elegant displaying aromatic complexity harmoniously combining cherry notes with fresh black currant. On the palate, it is full & lush revealing attractively mature fruit underpinned by powerful tannins. With remarkable balance over-all, it is generous & pleasant with a slightly spicy finish sustained by lingering flavors. You can't go wrong by pairing this wine with Rib Steak with Shallots, Breast of Veal, Duck Confit, & Lamb cutlets.
An intense, glittering garnet red in color, the nose opens up with cranberry & bilberry fruit aromas with a hint of caramel, further revealing ripe blackberry and cherry fruit upon further airing. From a streamlined initial attack of fresh bilberry & cherry fruit flavours with a touch of herby garrigue on the palate, the wine develops a very rich & firm roundness mid-palate culminating in a long and sublimely elegant finish of white pepper spice notes.
