Cristom Vineyards is an Oregon wine producer located in the Eola Amity Hills wine subregion within the Willamette Valley near Salem, USA. This 2nd generation estate produces elegant & dynamic wines that are widely popular in US Restaurants and recognized by their hallmark style of whole cluster fermentation using native yeasts. Their 4 Estate Pinot Noir Vineyards - the Eileen, Jessie, Louise, & Marjorie named after the Gerrie family matriarchs - each possess natural variances in soil, elevation, & exposition. With minimal intervention during the winemaking process, they strive to craft wines that are honest representations of the vineyard and vintage - producing ultimate expressions of their stellar fruit. Their wines continue to be a unique blend of tradition, modernity, & finesse. At the apex of Cristom Vineyard's distinguished line-up is this Single Louise Vineyard Pinot Noir. This is a rich, round, and alluring wine evincing ripe black cherry fruit aromas. On the palate, it is smooth & well-structured displaying nuanced cola, sandalwood, & spice characters lifted up by its crisp & lively acidity. Drink this now through 2025.
The Louise Vineyard Pinot Noir is more heavily textured, dark fruited, and more concentrated in flavor than any other single vineyard Cristom Pinot Noirs. The wine has flavors of creamy mocha-latte notes intermingling with a lush bouquet of dark mulberry, ripe blackberry, plums, & black cherry characters along with subtle chocolate hints. Its texture is delightfully velvety smooth and its finish is full & persistent.
